Leonard and Phil Chess made ample use of older Gene Ammons sides, reissuing several of his Aristocrat singles, but showed no apparent interest in older Muddy Waters performances. Meanwhile, the Aristocrat records that they had in stock kept on being distributed until January 13, 1951, when the old label was officially discontinued. During the new label's first two years, its proprietors dipped further, but not very systematically, into the Aristocrat archives. Of the first 8 releases on the new label (Chess 1425 through 1432), 6 used material recorded in June 1950 or earlier they mark a transitional phase from Aristocrat to Chess. This commemorated their family's first home in Chicago, at 1425 South Karlov Street. 18 they also announced hiring Len Davis, who had been with Old Swing-Master.) The brothers launched a new series of releases at number 1425. (See the announcement in Billboard, June 3, 1950, p. On June 3, 1950, Leonard and Phil Chess, now the sole owners of Aristocrat Recording Corporation, changed the name of the label to Chess. We have also added a biography of Bobby Lewis, including more information about his 1952 session with the Leroy Kirkland Orchestra. We have now worked in coverage of 45 rpm releases, from a company that was not an early adopter of the format (July 1951 for Chess 1469, August 1952 for Checker 758). We have added a little to our coverage of Al "Fats" Thomas. We have added correct label copy for Chess 1445, "Boppin with Santa." We have added information about two more Premium-to-Chess singles, Chess 903 by Memphis Slim and Chess 855 by Robert Anderson. We have provided some coverage of Guy Blakeman, the first Country artist to record for Chess (in 1950). Among the many lost sides are two vocals and two instrumentals recorded between June 10 and 13, 1950, by Andrew Tibbs with Sax Mallard, and never issued on Chess Marv Goldberg has helped us nail down the date. Revision note: Now that the severity of the Universal Studios warehouse fire on Jis fully known-it destroyed 175,000 or more masters controlled by Universal Music Group (these included nearly everything UMG had acquired from previous owners of the Chess catalougue)-we regretfully have to assume that any tracks or sides not issued prior that date are lost, unless someone can point to evidence to the contrary (Jody Rosen, "The Day the Music Burned," New York Times Magazine, June 11, 2019, ). There are no-fly zones (Opens in a new window) set by the FAA, so don't take off if you're near an airport without notifying the control tower first. If you're flying within the United States, you need to follow FAA guidelines-or prepare to face potential fines or jail time. Some manufacturers offer extended warranties that replace a lost aircraft, but make sure to read the fine print before buying something like DJI Care Refresh-you must consider any associated restrictions and fees. Of course, negative experiences are more prevalent in that context, simply because uneventful flights that don't result in a crash or missing drone aren't hot topics for discussion. On the other hand, we're a bit put off by just how easy it is to crash make sure you have a safe place to fly it.įlyaways still happen, however-there are horror stories on various web discussion forums. ![]() We like that it's easy enough for anyone to pick up and fly, though pros can swap a dual-stick remote for fully manual flight at 60mph. Take the Avata up high and you might see some wobble in the camera that you don't get with cinema drones, but you can also bank and turn to convey a sense of motion. The Avata is a drone for those who want fast-paced, close-to-the-ground, and elaborately choreographed footage. You can slow down and take your time too, if you like, for Cinewhoop-style long takes to channel your inner Scorsese and Welles. Meanwhile, built-in prop guards keep it flying after minor bumps and downward-facing sensors make low-to-the-ground flights possible. ![]() A nose-mounted camera, motion-sensitive remote, and 30mph Sport mode are there for thrill seekers. The DJI Avata is an FPV drone, one in which you see the camera view through a set of VR goggles, not on a smartphone screen. On the other hand, if you can spend more, the Mini 3 Pro adds useful obstacle avoidance sensors. If you don't want to spend quite so much ($560 with a remote), the Mini 2 is the best alternative. It conveniently streams live video straight to a smartphone app, is very capable for stills, and remains stable even when you fly it near the 400-foot altitude limit. Who It's ForĬreators who want a dual-aspect drone for TikTok and YouTube should consider this drone. We also like the 38-minute flight times, though we wish DJI had worked obstacle detection into this model. Its 249g takeoff weight means you can fly it without dealing with FAA registration-you just need to pass an online knowledge test. Safety features include GPS, Find My Drone, and Return to Home. The camera supports 12MP JPG or Raw DNG snaps, while the F1.7 optics do a good job at dawn and dusk. Highlights of the camera include support for 4K30 video with an HDR look in either vertical or landscape orientation, as well as 60 degrees of upward tilt. The DJI Mini 3 is the drone for pilots who aren't satisfied with the starter camera on the affordable DJI Mini 2 but can't quite justify the Mini 3 Pro. If you work on location or travel to beautiful places, the Mavic 3 is a worthwhile splurge, and the Cine version is available for creators with ProRes workflows. The drone is heavy enough to require FAA registration and you need an operator's license to use it for paid work, but it's still small enough to carry in a shoulder bag. The Mavic 3 is ideal for cinematographers, indie filmmakers, vloggers, and other creative professionals. If you want to spend less, the Classic edition drops the telephoto camera and cuts the cost to $1,599. Dedicated pros can step up to the Cine version ($4,999), which adds 1TB SSD storage and ProRes 422 video. All-around obstacle sensors allow the drone to fly around obstructions, an integrated GPS keeps it steady in the air, and forty-plus-minute flying times make for safer flights. A big Four Thirds format sensor with a Hasselblad color profile delivers excellent footage and stills straight-out-of-camera. The DJI Mavic 3 sports the best drone camera of any foldable model.
3/22/2023 0 Comments Cronometer gold review![]() I used to yap at my mom all the time about this. I can’t blame you for being skeptical at hearing that. Their muscles are sore, they are incredibly fatigued, they are starting to get sick or feel ill- what’s happening? These Gym Goers Are Suffering From Mineral Deficiencies If you don’t have adequate protein your muscles aren’t going to grow, without carbs you’re not going to have the energy (unless you’re on Keto), and without fats, your body just won’t be in a good state.īut, what happens when you have your macronutrients under locks? So literally just about every video you watch or article you read about starting lifting is all like, ‘PROTEIN CARBS FATS!!! MACRONUTRIENTS!! THAT’S IT’. Tommy, How Are Micronutrients Important in Lifting? I’ve only ever heard of ‘macro’ nutrients. This is why it is recommended to take a multivitamin if you lift to help your body keep balance of this.Ĭronometer specializes in tracking your micronutrients down to basically the exact number, and that’s what makes this app so powerful for intermediate-advanced lifters looking to take their gains to the next level. Furthermore, when we break down muscles, a ton of those vitamins get used and we still don’t replenish them. If you’re missing critical vitamins in your diet, a lot of bad things can happen including reduced muscle growth, bad sleep, bad moods, etcetera.Ī big problem is, for most of us that exercise, we end up sweating out a ton of our vitamins/minerals throughout the day and do not replenish them. Your micronutrition includes things like your vitamin and mineral intake. Most bodybuilders/fitness addicts don’t realize how important micronutrition actually is. In fact, MyFitnessPal requires you to pay a premium for it. This is something most calorie/food tracking apps won’t do. But, what makes Cronometer different than the other apps?Ĭronometer is different than other apps such as MyFitnessPal because it uses only verified sources for nutrition, but most importantly: it tracks all the micronutrients alongside the macronutrients. Letting people pay their premium fees and their tier via lindens would most likely stop the exodus from the land - and even premium status. Since I have no idea what the cost actually are, I can't say but I do know that many 3rd party web services are pretty darn spendy. But NOW depending on the cost of third party services that they have hired, the costs might be equal or in their favor. I could see no real reason WHY they were considering the move at that at the time as they would lose the fees from Linden dollars to USD exchange. I am still hoping that LL will decide that they will accept Lindens for payment (this mentioned by Patch a few years ago - maybe three). Here is the link to that comment on the SL forum post: It suggested that we are not actually getting the whole story. Someone did research and posted finding on the SL forum thread about this move. Rentals (not all of course) seem to be coming down markedly. Some are as always ridiculously priced, but a number of them are much lower than the previous "market" value". I have noted a marked degree of lands for rent and for sale. This change will not affect me personally as I rent my sim and I am no longer a premium member (this due to Tilia's TOS and privacy statements). Late to the party but a couple of thoughts. There a whole virtual tax revolt in Second Life modeled on the original American tax revolt over this!Īnother interesting aspect of this: I believe this is the first time that the Second Life virtual world will be directly impacted by a US Supreme Court decision: And yet then again, Americans tend to be much less tolerant to paying taxes. Then again, SL users in the European Union have been paying a VAT on many Second Life services for years. Which is quite a lot! I have to think this will have a huge impact on the Second Life economy and the community culture as a whole. So as an example, if you own a private sim and you live in Seattle, where tax rates are 10.3%, your yearly sales tax hit will come out to about $283. On the very top end, major cities Los Angeles (hey that's me!), Oakland, Chicago, and Seattle charge around 10%. Sales taxes vary quite a bit across the United States, and can be extremely high.
